Sports Camp – Week 8

Eleanor’s Sports Camp Girls

Though I’m sad camp has come to an end, we had an amazing last week! It was filled with fun activities such as American gladiator, carnival, and a trip to libertyville sports complex. Mia B did amazing in American gladiator! She was so aggressive and dominated in every station. In my station she zoomed passed me and scored every time. Madi J had an amazing week as well. During instructional swim she has the privilege of teaching her own swim group and she’s been doing so well that the unit head of swim came up to her and told her how proud she was of her and how she was going to tell her parents how impressed she is with her. And last but definitely not least, Sami J was amazing per usual. Her leagues team was in the playoffs for football and she scored a touchdown! It was such a good touchdown and she helped the team so much! I had such an amazing 4 weeks here at Jays camp and I am honored to have met such amazing girls. I hope everyone has an amazing school year!

Camp of the Arts

Where did the time go? Every summer I’m blown away by how short eight weeks is. It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly two months since I met you all. Being my first year as sports camp unit head and camp of the arts director, I had no idea what to expect. I just want to thank everyone who was a part of camp of the arts for an awesome summer and a great experience. Kyle A. earned the praise of the whole group as he found some of the coolest frogs we’ve seen all summer. Way to go Kyle! Closing out the session, we welcomed three new campers: Aaron M., Alex M., and Nathan K. were welcome additions to the group, helping build a cardboard boat and having fun at the tree house. I hope you three enjoyed your time in c.o.a.
I want to take the time to wish each and every one of the coa boys good luck in the upcoming school year. You’re great kids and I’d be thrilled to see you next summer! Stay cool and creative!
Signing out…

Henry’s Little Giants – SC 2

It’s a sad farewell this week as the Giants finish up the last week of camp. These past 8 weeks have been such a great experience for not only all of the campers but also all of the staff. Little Jerry Z was such a compassionate friend to all of the new campers who came to bring a friend day. With all of the new campers being nervous for what their first day at jay’s Camp would be like Jerry was right there to lend a guiding hand. All of the kids have done amazing things this summer and there are to many stories to tell in one newsletter. Every last kid has made some sort of impact on all of the jay’s Camp staff that has positively changed each one of us. I wish all of the little giants good luck as the begin 2nd grade and I hope they return to camp next year to make more great memories.

 Brad’s Super Knights – SC 2
I’m sad to say it’s the final week at Jay’s. I had so much fun with all my Super Knights and made memories I’ll never forget. Caleb was always providing humor which helped the group chemistry. I’ll miss Alex’s crazy dance moves that no one can compete with. I’ll definitely miss so many things about my campers and it’s hard to say goodbye…. But I really hope they have a great transition into 2nd grade and come back next year to camp so we can make more happy memories. Thanks so much Super Knights! You all made my summer great.

Dave’s Dominators – SC 3

The final week of Jays was a great success. It was full of league championships, American Gladiator, and a Carnival. All the kids showed their competitive edges during leagues championships. Dillion N. And Matthew R. played in at least two of the five championships. Neal A. and Aydyn L. demonstrated their strengths in American Gladiator and even got a good smack on me during the jousting tournament. Zach did a great job of dunking Counselor Charlie in the dunk tank. I enjoyed every second of Jays camp with all the kids and I have to say thank you for having such nice, respectful, and fun kids.

Patrick’s Porcupines – SC 3

It’s the last week of camp! Time flew by, but this was the best week yet. Campers enjoyed AmericanNinja  Warrior, American Gladiator, and a bunch leagues. The first camper who stood out was Daniel K. Daniel showed off his inner ninja and recorded the fastest time for second and third graders! Daniel received a trophy and a bunch of bragging rights from the huge win. Next camper who showed off some awesome athleticism was Dylan G. Dylan dominated a leagues soccer game. He scored a hat trick. The hat trick secured his team a spot in the finals! As camp wraps up everyone is trying to enjoy the last days.

 Zach’s Lightening Bolts – SC 3

Elijah’s Fancy Unicorns  – SC 4

Week 8 at Jays was easily the best week of camp! Everyone was so excited to do everything that the camp has to offer! A couple campers stood out to me this week. One of which is Eric Z. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Eric not smiling. Also, he is always extremely excited for any activity we have on our schedule! Another few campers, Logan S and Ryan H were extremely energetic with every thing we did bringing so much excitement to the group! Two final kids, Ashton H and Chase H, were so well behaved. They picked up so much garbage all week and were overall great assets to the group. Week 8 was so much fun and a great way to close out the summer! I only hope that next year can be as successful as this year! Thanks for a great summer!

Tyler K’s thunder – SC 4

It was our last week of camp this week, but the disappointment of that didn’t bring down our spirits as we still had a very fun week. Monday on the mini golf course Nathan S got 3 hole-in-ones in a row!!! A feat that nobody else could match. Meanwhile, Calvin H passed his swimming test and got moved up to the next class. Way to go buddy! I want to say thanks to all my campers from this year, it was my first year at Jays and the kids in the group really helped to make it a spectacular year. I hope everyone has a great summer and I look forward to seeing you all next year!!!

Jack’s Pink Fluffy Cheeseburgers – SC 5

What a fantastic way to end a great year! We finished our leagues playoffs and Dylan E was phenomenal! He was a huge part in his teams two championship victories. Another great contributed to a playoff team was Bryce D. He was a huge part in his teams victory in the super bowl! Another standout player I noticed was Brandon E. He was a threat to score every time he had the ball in soccer. I’m so upset my time with this great group of boys is over and hopefully I am able to have some of them next summer!

Tyler R’s Terrific T-Rex’s – SC 5

Week 8 was one of the best weeks we’ve had at Jays. It’s so sad to see all of the friendly faces go, but looking back it’s been a great summer. This week we participated in the American Gladiator challenge, a series of stations in which we give kids challenges while counsellors try to get them out. The most fun was the dodgeball station where campers had to run through obstacles while avoiding dodgeballs and reaching the end where they drop a ball in the bin. Our group stood out as a very fast group, hard to keep up with. Later in the week on Wednesday was carnival day, my personal favorite day. I worked the Pie station in which campers throw whip cream on a plate at counsellors trying to hit them. I unfortunately took about 6 fastballs from Brandon S, but nevertheless it was a blast. It’s very sad to say goodbye to everyone and all of our new friends we’ve met this summer. But we can’t wait to see you again next year!

Charlie’s Angels – SC 6/7

In the last week of the Espn scouting report Ramsey made his first appearance in quite some time on the basketball court. He dribbled the ball all around these kids and made it seem so easy to just lay it right into the basket. I’ve never quite seen one kid take on 5 people at the same time and still be able to get the bucket. If I was team USA I would have my eyes focused on this kid for the future because he is out of this world amazing. Next up is Liam C, Liam has been quite on during his time of playing softball and yesterday was definitely a top 10 play. A ball was drilled right at Liam and he laid out,
knocked it down and then continued to make the play and get the guy out. I’ve never quite seen someone so agile and quick as Liam and I think the MLB needs to open its eyes for another top prospect. Another kid who shook up this weeks Espn scouting report was Nathan. Nathan tore up the side line during football after catching a pass. His speed was off the charts and he out ran everyone in his path it was ridiculous! Lastly on the scouting report is Alex W. This kid has been amazing at all sports all year but yesterday was definitely his top highlight. Bottom of the inning 2 outs and no men on. Alex absolutely destroys the ball to win the game and win the World Series! His team went nuts and were in awe of how good he truly was.

SAC Camp – Week 8

Ari’s Angels – SAC 2

Ari’s Angels ended the summer with a bang! The girls had their final performances on Thursay and all did spectacular! Marni did an incredible job during her gymnastics performance in the tumble routine Great job, Marni! Ariella also celebrated her 8th birthday with us. Happy Birthday, Ariella! Thank you for an amazing last week and a summer I will never forgot.

 Val’s Violets – SAC 2
The 8th week of Jay’s Camp has been so much fun for everyone in SAC. We received our trophies and headbands for participating in Jay’s American Ninja Warrior. We also had 2 mass programs this week: Time Machine and Carnival. Isabella S. did amazing during our ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ 80’s dance. She knew the lyrics when we sang and had some pretty cool dance moves. Good job Bella! In addition to our jam packed week, we practiced for performances in classes. Caitlin B. in dance class did so well, always remembering her parts and moves. She dances a mean twist in the Hairspray part too! Nice work Caitlin! I cannot believe camp is already over. It has been yet another fun summer at Jay’s. Hope to see you all back next year!

 Kaleigh’s KooKoo Krocodiles – SAC 3
Congrats to everyone who performed this week at Jays for second session! Especially Abby and Hannah! They were both show stoppers in gymnastics.  They could bend backwards and do cartwheels and even backflips! Both girls had a wonderful final performance at Jays! Can’t wait to flip into next summer at Jay’s.

Vivian’s Valenties – SAC 3

Hello and what a great summer at camp! Sadly the last week of camp has come and very quickly it did. This week in camp we had performances and Hailey N. really showed off her gymnastics skills in the Beyoncé show. Emerson really shined in the play, The Descendants, by showing everyone her acting skills. We also participated in a huge scavenger hunt this week and Katie O. really helped the group find more candy! Chloe C. really showed how much of a team player she is by always being so nice and caring to all the girls and equally including everyone. This has been such an amazing summer getting to know all these girls and I wish the best of luck to everyone in the upcoming school year!!!

Amandie’s Candies – SAC 4

My heart is in pieces that this is the last week at Jay’s Camp :(. For me, this has been an unforgettable summer and I can’t thank you girls enough for it. This week, Addy R. passed to a white 5 for swim for her first time ever being that level! I am so proud of you Ad! We also had our time machine mass program this week where Hallie M. and Mia B. showed off their amazing 1920s dance moves! You looked so cute, girls! On Thursday we had our performances and Aubrey K. and Sylvia. F showed us their amazing gymnastics skills! You’re so good girls, you should be in the Rio Olympics this year! As sad as Friday was, I know that you girls, and the rest of our Pandas/Candies will do nothing but excel this school year because I’ve truly never met such genuine, sweet girls like you all before. I am going to miss you all the way to Ohio State and back a million times but I better see you all next summer! I love you so so much

Sam’s Sweethearts – SAC 4

I cannot believe I am writing my last newsletter for Sam’s Sweethearts! This summer has flown by in the blink of an eye! I have had such a great time with all of the girls in my group. We have had a great last week with many last minute accomplishments! Aden successfully passed in swim from a White 4 to a White 5! Great job, Aden! Also Avery, Stefi, and Aden performed in gymnastics for the showcase and did an awesome job! I was so happy to see all of their hard work pay off! I am going to miss seeing my campers everyday, but I hope they all have a great school year!:)
 Elana’s Elvis Elephants – SAC 5

I can’t believe it’s the final week of camp!! We have had so much fun these last 8 weeks and I’m so sad to leave my girls! Gabi O, came back from her vacation and all the girls were so excited to have her back! Ella S. had an awesome idea about our skit, and used her leadership skills. She was timid at first to say the idea, but I was so proud of her! This week we had carnival day and Abby A. dunked me in the dunk tank! Still can’t believe that this week is over, I’m going to miss my girls so much!

Rachelle’s Rabbits – SAC 5

This summer absolutely flew by and I cannot believe it is already coming to an end. Congrats to Victoria for passing in swim! I was so happy to have Samantha and Ilana back after being away for a few weeks at overnight camp. Having them back really put a great end to the summer because their energy and fun ideas always put me in a good mood! And an awesome job to Rachel for facing her fear of heights and trying out the bars in gymnastics. It makes me happy watching them accomplish new things! Thank you to all my girls for making my first summer at Jay’s an awesome one! They are the reason that I hope to come back next year.

Nikki’s Nemos – SAC 6

As we go through our last week at Jay’s, we have all realized how much we will all miss each other after camp ends. However, we did still manage to have as much fun as possible to wrap up camp. During performances, Bianca P. and Tatum K. were so excited to show everyone the dance performance that they have been working hard on all session. And although Angela G. wasn’t able to make it to the performances, she still had a blast in the gymnastics routine. Also, Sophia H. had so much fun in pottery class making dream catchers and clay roses. I am so sad to say goodbye to all of these girls. We have had the best summer together, and I will for sure miss them when I go back to college. I hope to keep in contact with Nikki’s Nemos after camp ends, and can’t wait to see them all again sometime soon!!
 Ali’s Angels – SAC 7/8

Ali’s Angels has had a fun-filled final week at Jay’s. We finished up American Ninja Warrior, had a carnival, and did final performances in addition to some of our typically scheduled activities. Olivia has been an absolute pleasure as a camper all summer. I like how she handles situations maturely. When we were finishing American Ninja Warrior, Jay needed people to help out on the course, and she was one of the first to volunteer. Thank you for being a great camper and group member Olivia! Rachel is another of my girls who has been a very good camper. She always followed the group plan respectfully. Rachel has been very helpful during instructional swim. She goes around and helps different groups who are struggling by giving corrections and demonstrating the strokes. Thanks, Rachel! I’m going to miss all my campers from this summer dearly! Good luck in school, girls!

ICA – Week 8

ICA NEWSLETTERS – WEEK 8

Josh’s Hot Wheels

It is hard to comprehend that the end of camp is already here. Never the less the boys had yet another fantastic week. We had a blast in the carnival. Jonah A. had an awesome time by eating all of the snacks that were served. Glad you had fun Jonah! Also during the carnival, I would say that Owen R. won the most prizes out of our group. This is due to the fact that during the event he came up to me with a handful of different prizes. Nice job Owen! Lastly the boys got their fortunes told and Anthony K. had the prediction that he is going to be an Olympian. Congratulations Anthony! What a summer we had. Sure we had our ups and downs but I couldn’t imagine the summer any better without this group of boys. Hope everybody has an amazing school year!

Morgan’s Butterflies

Can you believe camp is already over? I know I can’t! What an amazing summer the butterflies and I had!! It was filled with so many smiles, laughs, memories, and fun activities! We started off the last week of camp with Sidney R. hitting a home run in T-ball! Way to go Sid! The ball went way out into the field and it was amazing to watch! I am so proud of you! We then ended the last week of camp with Maya I. showing us her amazing gymnastic skills this week at gymnastic! Your skills are so good Maya! Keep up the hard work!! I honestly can not believe camp is over. I had such an amazing summer meeting all of the girls, and I hope they did as well! What an honor it was to be the butterflies’ counselor this summer! It was one summer I will never forget! I will miss seeing the girls everyday and their smiling faces! Good luck girls in school!! You all will do great! Have an amazing school year and see you next summer! Miss you all already! Xoxo

Sports Camp – Week 7

SPORTS CAMP NEWSLETTERS – WEEK 7

Eleanor’s Sports Camp Girls

The 7th week of camp has been absolutely amazing! It’s going by so quick! American ninja warrior added a little fun to the second to last week. Rachel S. really amazed me during American ninja warrior. She got the best time out of both girls and boys! Watching her race gave me so much pride in my awesome/athletic group of girls! Allie T. also had an awesome week at camp! We got the opportunity to play basketball against the boys and she creamed them. She has some serious skills and is truly an awesome basketball player. I’m so sad camp is coming to an end but I am so excited to see what the last week brings!

Camp of the Arts

Bouncing back from Olympics can be a challenge, but the c.o.a. boys proved up to the task. With just one week left of camp, I’m trying to take in all the memories, and I hope the guys are doing the same! This week, Gabe H. was dominant at the Bumper Pool table in gameworld, showing it’s not just a sports camp phenomenon. Way to go, Gabe. Aidan V. wowed the group with his speed and agility, racing up the climbing tower. Great job, buddy! I’d love time to slow down, but at least it means we’re having a great time. Until next time…

Henry’s Little Giants – SC 2

This week the little giants welcomed a new giant to the group. Brandon H jumped right into all of the activities and excelled at gymnastics. He not only won the weekly jump the river competition but also held a plank for a ridiculous 8 minutes and 30 seconds. On Wednesday we had our annual American Ninja Warrior course. Arya V took off scaling the walls and sliding under all of the bars while Justin K climbed up and down the rope wall without falling into the water below. It has been an amazing summer and I can’t wait to spend every last moment with everyone for as long as I can.

Brad’s Super Knights – SC 2

We’re having a great 7th week here at Jay’s Camp! I’m sad to say we only have a week left, but we’re enjoying it while it lasts. So for this week all the campers participated in America Ninja Warrior Week, they were crawling under obstacles, swinging across ropes, and running through obstacles to get the best time. We also did our playoffs for leagues. Henry made some great catches and a few touchdowns in football. He also ran past all the other campers, I’ve never seen him run so fast. Good job Henry!! Ilan isn’t on my leagues team anymore but I heard that he’s been dominating the playoffs and his team recently won the NBA Championship, way to go Ilan! I’m really hoping that our last week will go great before we all have to say our goodbyes.

Dave’s Dominators – SC 3

Jays Camp has flown by. With only one week left I can honestly say all the kids have improved greatly in the sports we have played through out. Matthew R. and Dillon N. continue to show their skills in hockey. Neal A. played really well for his team in football and Max S showed off his soccer skills. We will wrap up Jays camp with fun activities, championships, and a gladiator challenge

Patrick’s Porcupines – SC 3

It’s the seventh week of camp and this week could be the most exciting week yet. There was so many fun things to do like American Ninja Warrior and league playoffs. One camper who really stood out was Dylan G. Dylan really stood out during the league playoff games. He played exceptionally well in both baseball and hockey! Camp is wrapping up into its last week and all the campers are trying to imprint their fame in jays camp history.

Zach’s Lightening Bolts – SC 3

As we approach the final week of camp, the Lightning Bolts have more energy than ever trying to have the most fun possible. On Monday, we played a round of mini golf followed by visiting Rocky Ryan at the climbing tower, then having fun doing the obstacle course. On Tuesday, we started with tether ball and then played leagues where Jordan L. led my team to the NBA finals scoring 16 of my teams 20 points! Although we would end up losing in the championship, my leagues team never gave up even when our team was outnumbered by 5! On Wednesday, we did Jays American Ninja Warrior which consisted of many different running, climbing and jumping events. The kids loved doing this activity to see who can’t get the fastest time! On Thursday we played more leagues and lost in the Semi-finals to Dave’s team where Austin M. scored a hat-trick against me to lead his hockey team to the Stanley Cup Finals!
 Elijah’s Fancy Unicorns  – SC 4

Week 7 was one of my favorite of the summer so far! The highlight of the week definitely has to be the Jay’s American Ninja Warrior. Everyone in the entire camp had a blast running through the course as fast as possible! I wish there could an activity just like this one every week! In addition, a couple campers in my group stood out from the crowd this week. Two of these three campers are brothers David and Thomas S. Both of them showed off their overall athleticism dominating in every sport we played. David was able to defend in football like I’ve never seen having multiple interceptions in one game. He also dominated in knock out basketball. Thomas was just as impressive. He was almost impossible to guard in football scoring touchdowns often. Also, he seems to dominate in every other sport especially seen in baseball. Way to go to both of them! One more camper, Zach H, also was a very standout camper this week. He also seemed to dominate in leagues as well helping my team do very well overall this week. He is always a huge help and will always listen to any instructions perfectly! Great week Zach! Overall, this week was run very well mixing in the regular schedule, American Ninja Warrior course, and crazy Olympics. I hope that the 8th and final week can close out camp with an extremely entertaining just like this one was.

Tyler K’s thunder – SC 4

This week during leagues play Elliot D made a handful of nice catches on the football field, almost leading his team to an upset victory. Max A during soccer showed some fancy footwork and made quite a few amazing plays on the field. Aiden H moved up a level in swim from red to blue and we all couldn’t be more proud of him. Roman B during American Ninja Warrior sped through the course with lighting speed, and refused to give up when things got tough during the course.

Jack’s Pink Fluffy Cheeseburgers – SC 5

This has been a crazy seventh week of camp capped off by our crazy olympics! Matthew P. won our Oreo challenge where an Oreo is placed on top of the head and they need to slide it down into their mouths without using their hands. He did it way faster than all the campers! We also continued our leagues season where Zach G. was very competitive in the playoffs. He was saving shots left and right in hockey and had lockdown defense. Another standout start I noticed was Justin C. His baseball skills have improved drastically and he was a key part in his teams success. I am very sad that I only have one week left with these amazing boys and I hope I can make our last week a great one!

Tyler R’s Terrific T-Rex’s – SC 5

As we wrap up the final 2 weeks of camp we’ve had a full action packed week. One very special thing we do at jays camp is the American ninja warrior contest. Kids go through several obstacles and are timed in an adventurous race. The fastest time in our group went to speedy Jack S, as he finished with a time close to 2 minutes. Just missing the fastest time in camp. The campers really loved American Ninja warrior and we had a blast with it. This week was also league playoff week, and my team had the chance to play in the super bowl vs Nick. Michael V played some of the best defense I’ve ever seen and locked his man down. He also had a 20 yard catch and ran it all the way to the front of the end zone. It was a truly great performance as he helped push our team to win the championship. In a playoff game to push his team to the World Series Blake W. Led his team with a pair of hr’s. He hit the ball to dead center twice, cruising it way over the fence. A true power hitter Blake is a fun baseball player to watch, and have on your team.

Charlie’s Angels – SC 6/7

In week 7 of this Espn top scouting report Jack A. comes up huge during the playoffs. I’ve never quite seen a kid like this literally run from across to field to make a one handed interception and win the game for his team. The Titans and bears have been calling me all day asking if they can come scout him at camp because of just how unbelievable he is. Also in this weeks Espn top scouting report is Brian S. This kid is literally a machine in the pool with how fast he moves and how quickly he can glide throughout the pool and just dominate his competition.

SAC Camp – Week 7

SAC CAMP NEWSLETTERS – WEEK 7

Ari’s Angels tested their strength, agility, and speed in Jay’s American Ninja Warrior! Avigail made it through the course in just three minutes!! Way to go, Avi! Matilda L. spread kindness with sharing her eyeshadow with the rest of the group. So nice of you, Matilda L.! Thanks so much for another great week!

Val’s Violets – SAC 2

The 7th week of camp has been yet another week of fun. To follow up Olympic’s, this week we’ve gotten to participate in American Ninja Warrior. I have some athletic

girls in my group. Keira K. and Evelyn M. competed on the dizzy balance beam station, never falling off the beam once! Great job girls. We also welcome back Lilliana who went on a trip to Kenya. She’s come back and has gotten into the swing of things very quickly. She’s been very respectful and listens everyday since her return. Happy to have you back Lily! I am very sad the 8th week is just around the corner, it has been one awesome summer.

Kaleigh’s KooKoo Krocodiles – SAC 3

Ellie ran the American Ninja Warrior Course this week. Even though it’s a long course and it was a super hott day, she managed to complete the course just under 4 minutes, which is super impressive. Awesome Job Ellie! Maahi this week was a superstar at the rock climbing wall. Her speed has put her up to the top of the wall in under a minute! She looks like a pro! She flys by in any rock climbing race or competition! A true athlete. Bella H. is considerate and a great friend to everyone around her at camp.  She becomes friends with anyone she meets in an instant. She doesn’t come to camp everyday, but everyone wishes she did since she is so happy and a joy to be around.

Vivian’s Valenties – SAC 3

Hello and welcome to the second to last week of Jay’s Camp!!! Vivian’s Valentines had yet another great week! Lia D. showed off her drama skills this week by acting like a kangaroo in one of our favorite games, statues. Katie S. passed to a white 4 this week in swim! And Josie L. really showed us how high she could climb the rock climbing wall when she went all the way to the top and rang the bell. Sad that camp is coming to an end but glad we still have another week!!!

Amandie’s Candies – SAC 4

Amandie’s Candies had an awesome 7th week at Jay’s Camp! It was filled with sunshine, smiles, and laughs and it’s so sad to see the girls go next week :(. Sylvia F. participated in Jay’s American Ninja Warrior this week and was a natural! She had no problem climbing up the cargo net or ducking under the poles! Great job, Syl! Unfortunately, we have to say goodbye to Phoebe S. and Ava V. this week  :(. Have a great school year girls!! I hope to see you next summer and we will all miss you both so much!! As for the rest of the group, rest up because we have an exciting week coming our way!!

Sam’s Sweethearts – SAC 4

Sam’s Sweethearts had a great seventh week at Jays Camp! This week was Jay’s American Ninja Warrior! This was an obstacle course set up throughout camp, which tested their strength and endurance. They all did such an incredible job! Mya had a time of just 3 minutes – Way to go, Mya!! It was great seeing how excited Stefi gets everyday for instructional swim. She is always so excited to learn something new! I can’t believe that next week is our last week at camp! This summer has flown by in the blink of an eye! I cannot wait to see what the last week brings!

Elana’s Elvis Elephants – SAC 5

This week has been so fun at Jays Camp! Claire S. And Jazmyn P. both passed in swim!! I was so proud of them, and they were so excited for each other. We also started Jays American Ninja Warrior, which is an exciting obstacle course throughout the camp grounds. Julia V. sped through the course and got through it in 2 minutes and 45 seconds! She’s so awesome! This week we played volleyball instead of Newcomb and Rachel V. got the group to come play real volleyball! It was so awesome to watch my girls do something new! I can’t believe the seventh week has come to an end, but can’t wait for the last and final week!

Rachelle’s Rabbits – SAC 5

This week we put together a course throughout the field: Jay’s American Ninja Warrior. The course tested speed, agility, and endurance. Lauren B made it through the course in 2 minutes 38 seconds, awesome job! And an awesome job to Ashley in art! We made parrots this week and I was very impressed by her creativity and imagination, it really showed I’m her artwork!

Nikki’s Nemos – SAC 6

This week at Jay’s Camp, we had Jay’s American Ninja Warrior! All of the girls had so much fun seeing how quickly they could make it through the obstacle course. Also, Maddie M. has been working so hard in instructional swim, and has been practicing her breast stroke and back stroke. We can’t wait for what’s in store for the last week of camp!!

Ali’s Angels – SAC 7/8

In addition to our usual fun schedule, we played Jay’s American Ninja Warriors, competing on an obstacle course set up around the camp testing strength and agility. Such good times! Brooklyn was a great team captain at Jay’s stadium this week when we played dodgeball. Thanks for your team spirit and high energy, Brooklyn! We played a version of cops and robbers with the peddle carts this week and Chloe was a great cop! She seemed to be having fun running down and giving tickets to the robbers. Potential career? We’ll see. I’m getting really sad that camp is coming to an end, but I’m looking forward to the final week. I’ll really miss my girls!

ICA – Week 7

ICA NEWSLETTERS – WEEK 7

Week 7 has come to a close and camp is nearing an end. We had a blast competing in the American Ninja Warrior course where Jacob H. soared through the course and had the fastest time in our group. Nice job Jacob! Aside from that, we also went to the climbing tower where Cole N. climbed higher than any other member of our group. Way to go Cole! Lastly, we played kickball and Tommy P. hit a home run on his first at bat. So proud of you Tommy! This was a great week and I can’t wait to see what my boys have in store for the last one!

Morgan’s Butterflies

She was even able to ring the bell! Way to go Kala! I am so proud of you! This week in swim, Logyn K. passed from a green to a red! You can finally go on the waterslide all by yourself! I am so proud of you Logyn! The butterflies had so much fun this week for Crazy Olympics! They really were crazy! The girls also had an amazing time during Jay’s American Ninja Warrior Day!! I cannot believe there is only one week left! Rest up girls! We have so much more amazing activities planned for the last week of camp! Have an amazing weekend!

Alec’s Group

It’s so hard to believe there’s only one week left! In this 7th week, the boys had fun doing crazy olympics and showing off their skills in the Jay’s Ninja Warrior course. Adit M breezed through the ninja warrior course and set a record time for day campers. Way to go ninja! In crazy olympics, Collin M finished in first place in the “pie eating contest” and finished his whip cream and Hershey kiss treat before anyone else. Nice job Collin! With one week left in the year, the kids are finishing strong and looking to make even more memories at Jays!

Sports Camp – Week 6

SPORTS CAMP NEWSLETTERS – WEEK 6

Eleanor’s Sports Camp Girls

My second week here at Jays camp was amazing! I got to get to know the girls a little better and I’m loving it! The olympics were the perfect way to spice up my second week. Josie H amazed me the first day of Olympics as she raced in the 50 yard dash with all boys and won! From the second she took off I knew she had it in the bag because she was a good 5 feet ahead of her opponents. It was so awesome to see her bring home the gold for our team (Kenya). Lauren R also took home a gold medal this week  in the gymnastics section of the olympics. During her routine she was so graceful and I loved to watch her. The way her body was moving seemed almost impossible to me! I’m so proud of all my girls and all they have accomplished this week during the olympics.

Camp of the Arts

It’s week 6 and the summer continues to fly by. With Jay’s Olympics over, we still have Crazy Olympics and Carnival to look forward to! First of all, I want to thank the c.o.a. boys on behalf of the rest of the camp for helping tie-dye Olympic t-shirts. Nathan R. was a particularly huge help! Thanks guys. Nikita C. had a blast making all sorts of cool things with Legos. The kid’s got talent! Philip S. showed that Nikita isn’t the only one with architectural abilities, making some awesome sculptures in Pottery. Way to go, buddy! Matt K. put the cherry on top of a great week, making us all proud by earning his country a top three finish in one of the Olympic races. Congrats, Matt! How is it possible we only have two weeks left? Keep it up, boys!

Henry’s Little Giants – SC 2

This week the little giants had to say goodbye Landon W as he finished up his final days of camp. He has been a great camper and an even better friend to all of the campers. He was always willing to do whatever I asked of him whether it was to clean up some garbage from the floor or dance in front of the group he was a camper that will be missed in the final weeks. This week we also started the Olympics with campers representing different countries from around the world. Dylan H was excited as ever as he took on any event he was up against. During the races he was the first one to volunteer to run. He would try his hardest to throw the fathers or jump the highest all to get his team those extra points to try and win it all.

Brad’s Super Knights – SC 2

Things have changed a little bit at camp because week 6 is Olympic week for the campers. So far we’ve had running, basketball, and throwing competitions. Isaac has helped my team (Brazil) a lot so far by speeding past his competitors and landing us at second place in a 100m dash. Great job Isaac! Ilan helped his team out in the basketball competition by draining some shots and helping his team win, looks like we have the next Michael Jordan at camp! I’m really excited to see how everyone does in the upcoming events and I’m proud of all my campers to see them competing so hard. Go Super Knights!

Dave’s Dominators – SC 3

Olympics week came and went in exciting fashion. All three units were brought together and placed into countries to compete in Olympic style events. The excitement as kicked off with our opening ceremonies where Jay came in on a fire truck holding a torch. With the olympics there was a different schedule all week but that didn’t stop sports camp from getting in as much league play as possible. Dillon N. played goalie in soccer and stopped the majority of shots taken on him. Neal A. helped bring his team to a victory in basketball scoring multiple baskets. With two weeks to go we hope to have more excitement in leagues!

Patrick’s Porcupines – SC 3

Its the sixth week of camp and that means Olympics! All the young athletes are giving it their all for their country. One person you gave it their all was Andrew H. Andrew gave it his all in a game of doge ball. He dodged and threw his hardest to help his team with the game. The next young athlete who stood out was Joey D. Joey stood out during the olympics. Instead of doing a running event Joey decided to do the walking marathon. Joey ended up getting first place and he continues to get points for his country. As the olympics wrap up campers look forward to the fun in the weeks to come.

Zach’s Lightening Bolts – SC 3

The Olympics have started here at Jays Camp and what a great week to have them! The weather is beautiful and I am lucky to be in charge of Team USA. On Monday, we met with our Olympics teams and made chants and a poster to represent our country. On Tuesday, we started the Olympics with running events where Sam R. took home a gold medal by winning the 100M race! On Wednesday, we had the field events which included discus, throw for accuracy, throw for distance and javelin throw. Team USA held their own in each event placing in all the events! Also, Caden S. and Cole D. beat the planking record previously set by Cole’s sister with a time of 11 minutes and 46 seconds!

Elijah’s Fancy Unicorns  – SC 4

Week 6 at Jays ran just as great if better than week 5 this summer with a very successful Jay’s Olympics coming to a close. This week, the campers seemed to have so much energy with absolutely everything done at camp. In addition, a couple campers this week really stood out from the crowd. One of those campers was Blake G. Throughout the week, he was so  excited for every activity including specials! He also showed me how athletic he really can be in every sport played in leagues! Way to go Blake! One other camper, Andrew W, also seems extra excited for everything as well, especially places like pottery and gymnastics. He was a perfect listener and overall a very amazing camper! I’m so glad I was able to have both these campers in my group this summer! With week 6 over and week 7 starting, we are approaching the last couple weeks if the summer. Hopefully this summer can close out as

well as the summer had started.

Tyler K’s thunder – SC 4

Week 6 is going very well for the Thunder. We started our camp Olympics this week and everyone is feeling very excited. During our Olympic events Wednesday Dan L won the shot put for his age group. Zach B in gameworld went on a tear on the air hockey table, winning 5 games in a row. Noah K during gymnastics absolutely refused to give up during the plank challenge, coming just short of winning, but staying in as long as he could and being very competitive and tough. Jack M during leagues rocketed a double to center field and legged it out, just beating the throw and ending up safe.

Jack’s Pink Fluffy Cheeseburgers – SC 5

This week we had our annual Jay’s camp olympics and the kids had a blast. One of the events we played was newcomb and Mathew P was outstanding. He almost lead his country to victory with some outstanding catches. Another event we did was the 21 basketball tournament. Caden N was an important part to his country winning the gold. He was automatic with his shots! We also continued our leagues seasons which has gotten very competitive. We played football Thursday and Bryce D made the most amazing interception I’ve ever seen! We have a lot of fun activities planned for the last two weeks of camp and I couldn’t be more excited.

Tyler R’s Terrific T-Rex’s – SC 5

Week 6 we began one of the most fun weeks in camp, the Olympics. We started off painting our sign, cheering for our country, and then eventually doing group contests to win points for your country . One camper that really took his country to the next level was Brandon S. he ran the 200m run for 4 & 5th graders and won for his country. He has an excellent jump when the whistle blew and kept his lead through the finish line. Later in the week during a game of leagues in the morning, my team had the chance to play Elijah’s team in football. Veer P stood out as an excellent wide receiver always open to gain 5-10 yards. He ran some nice routes always getting open and getting long yards for his team. The game ended in a tie but Veers short passing strategy helped his team get into scoring position 4 times. Overall it’s been an excellent week as we head into the closing Olympic ceremonies.

Charlie’s Angels – SC 6/7

In this weeks ESPN scouting report Zach M is a top prospect due to the way his wrist shot just rockets through the defense. I have never seen anything quite like it in my life. Everytime he fires the puck the goalie runs out of the next because they are so afraid of taking that rocket head on. Lastly in this weeks scouting report Brandon S went crazy and hit 6 dingers right over the fantasy field fence. Seriously the MLB has never seen anything like this kid before the way he strokes his bat and just automatically wicks it over the fence. If you ask me this is a new dawn of athletes.

SAC Camp – Week 6

SAC CAMP NEWSLETTERS – WEEK 6

Val’s Violets – SAC 2

Time is flying by here in SAC camp and all of Jay’s camp! I cannot believe the 7th week of the second session is on deck. This week was fun filled with Jay’s Camp Olympics. We did running events, field events, and even participated in Olympic swim! Teryn G. on my team represented France in the best way by coming in 1st place in the 200 yard dash. Awesome job Teryn! In addition to our olympic games, we also participated in our regular schedule. At gymnastics, we did a plank contest to really test the strength of the girls of SAC. Isabel S. beat the camp AND boy’s record of 11:10. You’re amazing Isabel! Another great week at camp.

Kaleigh’s KooKoo Krocodiles – SAC 3

Eleanor has been super sweet to all the campers around her. Her generosity doesn’t go unnoticed.  She loves to share her things with others to play like her one of kind fans, even if it means bringing in 9 more so everyone can have their own for the day. This week a new game was introduced to the group and Maddie caught on quickly.  She has become a gaga champ within days.  She is super competitive and makes the game a blast for everyone around her, keep up the intensity Maddie. I hope Kyla enjoyed her vacation! She was gone for a whole week and we are eager to see Kyla when she gets back! We hope she has a safe travel home and that we see her soon!

Vivian’s Valenties – SAC 3

Hello Jay’s Camp and yet another wonderful week with Vivian’s Valentines! Annabella H. really showed off her acting/drama skills in drama class this week and also in the play for classes, The Descendants! Taylor W. really showed off her flexibility this week during the gymnastics unit in the Olympics! Karina P. really showed me what a team player she can be and she helped out group out by cleaning up the table after lunch even when she didn’t make the mess! Another great week and a very sad farewell to our fellow Vivian Valentine Madeline B. we’ll miss you and hope you have a great school year!!!

Amandie’s Candies – SAC 4

Amandie’s Candies isn’t wasting a second of it!! This week all the campers participated in Jay’s Olympics and the girls had so much fun! Aubrey K. participated in the gymnastics event and did an outstanding job for her team and earned them points! Great job, Aub!! Morgan C. participated in the basketball dribble and dribbled the ball so fast it didn’t even look like it was moving!! You’re an NBA pro, morg! Unfortunately this is Morgan’s last week and we are going to miss you so much!! Have an amazing school year and I hope to see you next summer!! As for the rest of you, have a great weekend and get ready for an amazing last two weeks! Love you

Sam’s Sweethearts – SAC 4

We have really been enjoying this week at Jays! It has been a busy week with our Olympic’s activities! Aden had a great performance during the gymnastics portion of the Olympics! It was also Ava’s last week at camp! We are going to miss her for the next two weeks of camp! We are all excited to continue this session with all the activities coming up!

Elana’s Elvis Elephants – SAC 5

It has been another great week at Jay’s camp and this week we had Olympics! I was lucky enough to have Jasmine D. on my team and even though she didn’t know anyone she stuck it out and had an awesome time! Alexa D. had a birthday on Thursday, she finally turned double digits and was so excited for it all week! Happy Birthday Alexa!! Julia V. took first place in the running events that she participated in for her team. She is so crazy athletic! This has been an amazing week and I can’t believe I only have 2 weeks left with my girls!!

Rachelle’s Rabbits – SAC 5

This was an exciting week with olympics going on! Even though Kate just broke her wrist, that is not holding her back from doing any of the activities! Way to go Kate for participating even with an injured wrist! I’ve really enjoyed having Kate in my group because she is always such a joy to have around! Her positive attitude towards everything we do really gets all the other girls going an she always knows how to put a smile on everyone’s face! Kate is all around a creative, sweet, and personable girl!

Nikki’s Nemos – SAC 6

This week at Jay’s Camp is one of everyone’s favorite weeks : Olympics!! Each girl has been assigned a country, and everyone participates in different events to earn points for their team. Maddy S. competed in the running races and was the fastest one out there! Ester V. did an amazing job in the gymnastics event, where she showed off her rhythmic gymnastics skills. Closing Ceremonies are this Friday, and everyone is so excited to see which countries got the highest scores!!

Ali’s Angels – SAC 7/8

Ali’s Angels had another great week! We welcomed another new girl to the group, a returning camper named Deepa! Deepa is so sweet and wonderful. She was very still and made funny poses when we played ‘Night at the Museum’ at the tree house. We also welcomed McKenna back this week after her soccer tournament in Minnesota and we certainly missed her enthusiasm and energy while she was gone! She’s been a great team member during Olympics this week!! I’m looking forward to another week of fun and games at Jay’s!

ICA – Week 6

ICA NEWSLETTERS – WEEK 6

Alec’s Group

Week 6 was a blast with Alec’s group, and Jays olympics is full steam ahead! Dean R was amazing in the jumping events in olympics, and brought his team to a top 3 finish! Way to go bud! In other news, Jacob S earned a gold medal and first place finish in the olympics in the 50 yard dash for day campers. Great job Jacob! That’s all for this week! Even though Olympics is coming to a close and with only two weeks left of camp, Alec’s group is still proving they’re here to have fun!

Josh’s Hot Wheels

It is hard to believe that week 6 is already here. The boys had a blast this week competing against there friends in the Jays Olympics. One of these events was the 100 yard dash and Liav G. earned second place in the race. Nice job Liav! Aside from the olympics this week during swim, Colin G. passed from a green to a red. Way to go buddy! The boys had yet another fantastic week and I am looking forward to making more memories.

Morgan’s Butterflies

I cannot believe that there are only two weeks left of camp! It’s flying by! The butterflies had so much fun this week! Everyone had so much team spirit for their country during Jay’s Olympics! . Amelia B. had the most team spirit for her country! She was so loud and proud of her teammates! I loved the great spirits you had Amelia! While at mini golf this week, Hayley B. got a hole in one! She was so excited as was I! I am so proud of you Hayley!! During instructional swim this week, Carly B. passed from a red to a blue! I am so proud of you! You can finally go in the deep end of the pool Carly! Rest up girls! Crazy Olympics start next week, and they get really crazy!! Have an amazing weekend!

Sports Camp – Week 5

SPORTS CAMP NEWSLETTERS – WEEK 5

Message from Jay…

Parents and children at Jays, all our problems our fixed. I can’t believe we are starting week 6. There’s many more programs we are going to do and then much, much more before we are through.

Carnival, Jay’s Ninja Warrior course, Olympics, SAC performances, American Gladiator, ICA camp treasure hunt are all in the race and every program is designed to put a smile on your campers little face!

So fasten your seatbelts and take care of yourself and you’ll experience these programs before August 12th.

Kenya, Brazil, USA, France, Japan, and Israel are the countries that please and every camper at Jay’s will march in with their colorful tees! There’s a lot more things that we will vow and I’ve got to go, so, so long for now!

Have a great weekend! We will see you next week.

Love, Jay

Eleanor’s Sports Camp Girls

This was my first week as a Jay’s Camp counselor and I had a blast! The girls are so awesome and fun and I love to be around them. they have so much athletic skill and truly amaze me. This week Malania B. really impressed me with how well rounded she was in all sports. From basketball to lacrosse, she was a beast. During basketball she was making shots left and right and also had some awesome and aggressive defensive skills. You can really tell how passionate she is about sports whenever she steps on the court / field. Anna H. was also a beast this week. She’s a natural at lacrosse and tore up the field. She was always running after the ball and never gave up. She has some awesome stick skills I can really see a future in lacrosse for her. All in all, this was an amazing week and I can’t wait to get to know these girls better!!

Camp of the Arts

The second session came with extreme heat, but the camp of the arts boys did not let that spoil the fun. Josh D. has been excelling at all kinds of sports, keying his team’s victory in leagues with two critical catches. Great job, Josh! Alex S. proved to be a master of surrealist art, making a ‘taco-seal’ in pottery. I absolutely loved how it turned out, Alex. Keep it up! Sam V. tore through the competition winning round after round of Bocci Ball. Way to go, Sam. Andrew D.’s Jordan-esque hops were on display in jump shot. Can we get him signed up for the NBA dunk contest next winter? Daniel L. proved quite the Pokemon player, winning the first of what I’m sure will be many battles within the group. Nice work, Daniel. Here’s to a great sixth week as we start Jay’s Olympics!

Henry’s Little Giants – SC 2

This week the little giants had a battle against the sweltering heat, but just like every other obstacle it was no match for the Giants. Eli M had an awesome week of swimming earning himself the most improved swimmer accolade from Jay himself. He has made huge strides since the first week of camp and I’m excited to see where the final weeks can take him. With the start of a new term also comes the start of new leagues teams. Ryan G has been an all star for our team this week making play after play in every sport we have done. First in soccer he made key stops as goalie to lead us to our first victory of the season. He followed it up in baseball with a great hit that let two of his teammates score that put the team up eventually leading us to another victory. The little giants have been amazing this week despite the blistering heat and only continue to amaze me every day.

Brad’s Super Knights – SC 2

Week 5 has been a success with my “Super Knights”. We now have 2 new members to our program, Nolan and Levi. They’re a great addition to the group and I’m really excited to have them. Levi is starting to learn baseball and he is already hitting bombers and got 2 RBI’s today. Great job Levi! Nolan has been doing great also, especially in leagues. He’s definitely one of our fastest campers, so in games like football and soccer he can really dominate. Keep it up Nolan! So with that said it’s a great pleasure to be with all my campers and I’m looking forward to all the fun times we’ll have!

Dave’s Dominators – SC 3

Second session began with one of the hottest weeks of the summer. Thursday and Friday consisted of cool activities like swimming and watching a movie due to the heat warning being issued for our area. The days before that we got in as many league games as we could. Baseball and football were the two sports played by the 3rd graders this week and it is still great to see improvement with the kids. Aidan K. had a spectacular football game on Wednesday along with an incredible catch to make a first down. Brandon M. played very well for my baseball team by knocking in two runs with a double. We hope next week will cool down slightly so that we can continue our competitive and fun league play.

Patrick’s Porcupines – SC 3

The fifth week of camp and we had a bunch of fun. Even though it was hot all campers managed to make it an exciting week. A couple campers really stood out this week showing off their athletic abilities. Zachary H. got two great hits and scored a couple key runs during the league baseball game. Zachary also had a great soccer game. He played some great defense. Next we had Hayden O. who played the best dodgeball game I’ve ever seen. Hayden, who was the last one who did not get out on his team, managed to get three people out and avoid getting hit for a long period off time. Hayden also scored a bunch of goals during his league soccer game. As this week comes to an end all the campers are trying to beat the heat.

Zach’s Lightening Bolts – SC 3

As we start this new session, the Lightning Bolts would like to welcome all new members to our group! On Monday, we started off the new session by playing a round of mini golf then took a nice break in the pool. After swimming, we visited Rocky Ryan at the climbing tower then played Ga Ga. On Tuesday we started with tether ball and met our leagues team to play some baseball. Later, we went to our new clubs programs that kids can choose a special interest that applies to them. Wednesday we went to Gameworld before swim and had a great time there! After leagues, we went to gymnastics and Max F. beat the planking record, previously set at 8 minutes and 40 seconds, by holding a plank for 10 minutes and 15 seconds! Also, while at gymnastics, Allen B. dominated the long jump contest winning to the farthest jump! It was a great first week for the second session and I am looking forward to the next three!

Elijah’s Fancy Unicorns – SC 4

Week 5 of Jay’s camp was a really great way to start the second session of the summer! We began leagues with whole new teams and have really gotten far into the bracket already. Every team has played e very sport already. In particular, a few campers in my group, also two of the campers on my leagues team, stood out this week period. One of the two campers, Jason C, really showed off how valuable he can be in a game of football.  He has caught at least 3 touchdown passes in every game this week.  In addition, he has really helped out in each of the other 4 sports, Way To Go Jason!  One other camper, Jack B, really showed off his baseball skills, getting hits in each of his games, leading us to victories in our first 2 baseball games. He always acts with great sportsmanship win or lose.  In addition, he has also been very successful in both hockey and football. Overall, this week has been amazing even with the excessive heat and humidity.  I can only hope that the coming weeks are just as fun and both my leagues team and group continue to have a great time.

Tyler K’s Thunder – SC 4

Our second session of camp got off to a great start. We welcomed a few new kids to the group and they seemed to be getting along very well with the group, becoming friends very quickly. Calvin H in gymnastics won the plank contest, holding his plank for almost 6 minutes, impressing everyone with his abs of steel. Elijah M made a nice catch on the football field and did a little shake and bake on his defender and scored a touchdown. Brady D in gameworld got the high score on the skeeball table, sinking shot after shot after shot.

Jack’s Pink Fluffy Cheeseburgers – SC 5

We started the new session off with a bang! The boys got put into new leagues teams and this week has been very competitive. One standout I noticed was Alex C. He was making plays all over the football field and always gives his best effort. Later in the week Dylan E and a couple boys played a pick up basketball game. He was making shot after shot over some counsellors. It was incredible. In leagues later in the day we played baseball. My leagues team was playing a game on the other field when all of a sudden a tennis ball lands in the middle of the field off the bat of Brayden G. It was one of the farthest hits I’ve seen. Looking at how this first week of the new session has gone, I’m eager to find out what lies ahead for us the rest of the summer.

Tyler R’s Terrific T-Rex’s – SC 5

It was a sad end of week 4 as the group had to say bye to a couple campers. Week 5 we started off the new 4 weeks strong, playing a fun game of basketball with Charlie’s group. Connor W really stood out as he drained 3 threes in a row from almost half court. I heard he’s been teaching Steph Curry how to shoot in his free time. Unfortunately our team lost but not without Connors great effort. On Wednesday we had the chance to do gymnastics and played a game with who could hold the longest plank. Adrian V held the longest plank lasting 4 minutes long, 1 minute longer then anyone else. He looked like a natural gymnast and looks to keep his training up for Rio in a couple months.

Charlie’s Angels – SC 6/7

In week 5 of the ESPN scouting report Sean K came up huge in football. 4th down with absolutely no time left Sean grabs a hail marry out from the sky and scores the winning touchdown unlike almost anything I’ve ever seen in my life. Also coming up huge was Ty H. This kid was ripping balls right over fantasy field like it was nothing to him. MLB teams have been scouting him for quite some time now and this year might be the year in which he leaves Jay’s Camp and heads towards a brighter future in the MLB.
